A decrease in the demand for recreational fishing boats might be caused by an:________.

Business

Answer:

a) decrease in the number of sports fishers

d) an increase in the price of fishing boats.

Explanation:

The law of demand argues that the demand for a product is inversely proportional to its price. A decrease in the price of a product will result in an increase in its demand. For the fishing boats, an increase in their prices might lead to a reduction in their demand. When the boats become expensive, some potential customers will opt to do without them.

A decrease in the number of sport fishers may also result in a decrease in the demand for recreational fishing boats. Recreation fishing is more of a sport than a commercial activity. Sport fishers make a sizable market for the recreational boats. A decrease in customers number will cause a decrease in demand.

Contribution margin per unit $80 $70

                                                         Product G Product B

Machine hours per unit 0.4 hours 1.0 hours

produce maximum sales in total

Currently the company should only produce Product G, since it is able to produce 440 units per month and that generates a contribution margin of $35,200.

If the company decides to produce in two shifts, then it should produce 600 units of Product G (using 240 machine hours) and use the remaining 112 machine hours to produce 112 units of product B. This will generate a total contribution margin of: $48,000 +$7,840 = $55,840.

The additional contribution margin generated = $55,840 - $35,200 = $20,640, which is higher than the additional costs generated by working in two shifts. The second shift will increase the company's p´profits by $5,640 (= $20,640 - $15,000).

What do you feel would be a minimally acceptable rate of pay? (ex. $X.XX or $XX,XXX):_______.
Veronika [31]

Correct question: I do not know if this question is complete or not but if i understand you well enough, I'd say that the minimally acceptable rate of pay will be in accordance to what is obtainable in yur state or area. $X.XX represents pay per hour while $XX.XXX represents pay per year.

Answer:

I would say Negotiable to be on the safe side if you can't come up with a certain amount by yourself.

Explanation:

When you have to fill on an application and it gets to the rate of pay, you either be on the safer side and write Negotiable if you do not want to sell yourself short or be too pricey. But it is almost certain that the rate of pay applicable in your state or area is what you will be getting per hour.

I hope this helps.

Elena L [17]

Answer:

Correct Answer:

E. fewer substitutes are available because consumers are more sensitive to prices.

Explanation:

Market power is the ability of a company to successfully influence the pricing of its products or services in the overall marketplace. This is common among most big corporations that produces consumer goods and offer services.

This market power can be influenced by some factors. On the other-hand, the market power could be eroded leading to inability of the companies to influence prices do to the following:

1. Number of companies in the market: The lower the companies producing same product in the market, the higher the chances of the companies to be able to influence market prices. Otherwise, the market power will be eroded due to high number of companies.

2. Elasticity of demand: The persistent demand of a product by people helps to determine the market power of those companies. When this is lacking, the market power is eroded.

3. Product differentiation: The ability of a company to provide a unique product that offers good services in a market helps it to achieve market power. Lack of these erodes the market power.

Bess wrote four checks last month, and these were the only transactions for her checking account. According to her check registe
Wittaler [7]

Answer: $184.34

Bess issued four checks with amounts $175.17, $175.53, $175.35,and $184.34. With the total amount she issued, she expected her balance based on her cash register to be $869.96, but as per bank statement, her balance is $1054.13.

To get the amount of check which is not cleared yet, we have to deduct the balance in the cash check register from that of the bank statement:

$1054.13-$869.96 =184.17

$184.34 is the best answer because it is the last he wrote and the discrepancy of 0.17 may be due to some bank charges Bess had not recorded.
