A.) The arrival of Mr.Brympton causes fear, revealing that men are powerful in the world.
This is because after he arrives yes, the slaves hate him. However, the fact that Mr.Wallace reads a bible does not matter because he is more worried that his master is back same with the cook. Therefore, it would be that -this particular- man is very powerful and has direct say over these people

The correct answer would be option A: "The arrival of Mr. Brympton causes fear, revealing that men are powerful in the world." In Gothic literature, it is most common that the author place the atmosphere with mystery and fear which is clearly what he does by saying: "I had been near a week at Brympton before I saw my master" and "It was plain that nobody loved him below stairs". The master creates a feeling of fear in all the characters because of the power he has over their livelihoods and quite possibly their life, which is why everyone is anxious around him.

Option B is incorrect because cooking is not the central idea in the excerpt, neither is religion or the social correctness of having servants or not, therefore, option C and D are also incorrect.

In an interview last month on the Yoga Up! website, Don Roth, a yogi with 30 years’ experience wrote how regular yoga “helps your tendons, muscles and ligaments achieve full movement whilst also improving your core strength.” He also added that performing yoga regularly, no matter what sport you play can improve your performance and reduce the chance of injuries.

Explanation:

Below are some of the functions of a comma in a sentence:

  1. To separate ideas and words
  2. To show a pause
  3. It is used to separate coordinate clauses

From the answer above, comma was removed where it was unnecessary and wrong for it to be and put in places where it should be.

Read the excerpt from "Thomas Edison: The Master of Improvement.” It was this same stubborn resolve that made Edison’s lightbulb
timurjin [86]

the correct answer would be D. he tried different kinds of wood, coconut fiber, and even the hair because you see the word EVEN in between the AND and the THE, we'll the EVEN makes the sentence seem like the author is thinking that Edison  really wants to succeed.

So D) is the correct answer.

Hope I helped.
