Answer:

C- Confucius believed that if leaders conducted themselves well, the people would come to understand the difference between right and wrong.

Explanation

What helped me figure out the answer is "Keep them in line with punishments, and the people will stay out of trouble but will have no sense of shame. Guide them by virtue, keep them in line with the rites, and they will, besides having a sense of shame, reform themselves."

Determine whether the following effects were the result of trade expansion in Italy or the Crusades.
AysviL [449]

Answer:

Trade Expansion:

✔️A) Industries such as shipping, manufacturing, and banking developed and flourished.

✔️B) Wealth increased, allowing people to sponsor talented artists and scholars.

Crusades:

✔️C) People lost faith in the church and turned their attention from the divine to the human world.

✔️D) Europeans interacted with foreign cultures of the East and became aware of new ideas and experiences.

Explanation:

During the trade expansion, industries were developed and they also flourished. Some of the industries that were greatly impacted are the shipping (because these were the point were goods came from other countries), manufacturing and banking (the growth of banking houses). There was increase in wealth as people made money from the trade.

During the crusades, the church was growing in political power through their militaristism actions. This made people to start doubting the spiritual state of the church. Also, as diseases broke out, the church could not profer solutions to the problems. This led to people "losing faith in the church". At this time too, there was new experiences and ideas people learnt.

Was de gaulles character better suited to the army or politics?
mr_godi [17]

de Gaulle wrote a book in the early 30's about mobile warfare. The germans read it and used it for blitzkrieg. His ideas were not popular with the higher ups, but during the battle of France he was given one French Armored Division, and he was able to attack and drive back the Germans.

Being also a politician, he was asked to join the new French Government. After the surrender, de Gaulle flew to Britain with one small suitcase and the honor of France. From there he organized the Free French. He managed to tick off just about everyone at one time or another as he lobbied for France. de Gualle was a conservative, while most of the French resistance and Free French were socialists.

After the war, the French created the fourth republic, with all the problems of the third. de Gualle went into retirement, but also started organizing his own party, the Gaulists. In the 50's the problems with Algerian independence caused a constitutional crisis. de Gaul led the effort for a new constitution with a strong presidency, and served as the first president of the 5th republic.

So de Gaulle is a father of his country, like George Washington. Except nobody wanted to run up to George and kick him in the shins, but most everyone wanted to do that to de Gaulle at one time or other.
