Both the authors delve into the theme of Governmental control and the theme of facade of freedom imbibed in Americans.

Explanation:

<u>The first story uses the mechanical absurdity of executive decisions and how they are removed from the experience of the common peopl</u>e. It uses a single narration, almost dried out in its approach to use this and convey the theme.

"<u>Mericans' is more of a story from the perspective of an outsider about the stereotypical America</u> and how their experience is influenced by what they think about the outsiders and are proud about things they have no control over.

What can a writer describe about two characters to help develop their personalities
photoshop1234 [79]

Hello there! Here are some ways a writer can describe about two characters to help develop their personalities:

  • Through their thoughts and actions:<em> How they react to or what they think after certain situations can show if they're sympathetic, jealous, rude, stuff like that, basically their traits.</em>
  • Hobbies/Interests: <em>What they do for fun can tell a lot about them. For example, a serial killer and ballerina are, well, very different. Showing what they do reveals them more as a person.</em>
  • How they present themselves:<em> this can show a lot about a person, especially with how they take care of themselves, if they shower often, how they walk...</em>
  • How they interact with other characters: <em>You know the cliche grumpy old neighbor - or the snobby popular girl? These cliches are built up from how these characters interact with others. A snobby girl could talk down on people she believes are not as good as her. the grumpy man may yell at kids for crossing his lawn</em>

These are all factors you can take into account. In summary, how characters interact with their environment, society and themselves really goes to show their personalities. I hope my answer was helpful, have a great day!

How does Bryant use imagery to develop the idea of death? Cite evidence from the text to support your response.
Bingel [31]

Bryant uses images of coffins, tombs, and graves to develop the idea of death. The poet paints a scary picture of death using words such as agony, shroud, and shudder:

Of the stern agony, and shroud, and pall.
And breathless darkness, and the narrow house,
Make thee to shudder, and grow sick at heart—

He describes the "stern agony" of dying and uses words such as shroud and pall to suggest the cloth wrapped around dead bodies and caskets. Bryant also draws comparisons between the freedom and space of nature and the narrow confinement of coffins.

He further explains how nature acts as a "great tomb of man" as everyone gets mixed up in the earth after dying.
