"Robert'll go to school with me then? He'll study with this man too?" "No. I'll be sending Robert to school, but not there. I'm

thinking on sending him to a boys' school in Savannah." I was bewildered. "But why can't we go together? We've always studied together. Why not now?" My daddy took a moment before he answered. "Because you're growing up." "But that's got nothing to do with it." "Oh, but it does," said my daddy. "It's got everything to do with it. Robert needs an education, and so do you. But you can't be educated in the same way." —The Land, Mildred D. Taylor How is Paul characterized in this passage? Paul is angry that his father is sending him to a new school. Answer: In this passage, Paul is characterized as upset. He is talking back to his father and being disrespectful because he is angry about how he is being treated. He is upset that his father called him his boy instead of his son. He is also upset that his father will not let him make his own decisions about riding other people's horses. Paul is starting to feel more apart from his own family than he ever has before. In the story, Paul is realizing the differences between him and his white family.

Answer:

Paul is characterized as a child who has very strong emotions.

Explanation:

Paul obviously has a good friendship with Robert but does not understand why they must separate. He likes Robert but he doesn't know that the reason why they must leave each other is because of the difference in their learning ways. Paul is more of a childish person who often gets in trouble while Robert is a bit more serious.
