Xelga [282]

Answer: The dividend payout ratio is 46.19%.

We follow these steps in order to arrive at the answer:

We begin with the DuPont identity of RoE.

<u>DuPont Identity:</u>

RoE = Net Profit Margin * Asset Turnover Ratio * Equity Multiplier

Now,

Equity Multiplier = \frac{1}{Debt Ratio}

And Debt Ratio is also expressed as:

Debt Ratio = \frac{D/E}{1+D/E}

where D/E represents the Debt-Equity Ratio.

Substituting the value of D/E ratio from the question in the debt ratio formula above we get,

Debt Ratio = \frac{0.9}{1+0.9}

Debt Ratio = \frac{0.9}{1.9}----(1)

Substituting (1) in the equity multiplier formula above we get,

Equity Multiplier = \frac{1}{\frac{0.9}{1.9}}

Equity Multiplier = \frac{1.9}{0.9}

Substituting Equity Multiplier from above and the relevant numbers from the question in the DuPont identity we get,

RoE = 0.048 * 1.08 * \frac{1.9}{0.9}

RoE = 0.10944

The relationship between RoE and earnings growth rate g is given by the following formula:

RoE = \frac{g}{(1-p)}, where p is the dividend payout ratio.

Plugging in the values in the formula above we get,

0.10944 = \frac{0.16}{(1-p)}

1-p = \frac{0.16}{0.10944}

1-p = 1.461988304

p = 0.461988304 or 46.19%

Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

$50,000

Explanation:

To calculate the amount of cash that the company received from selling common stock during the year 2 we can use the following formula:

cash received = (common stock year 2 - common stock year 1) + (paid in capital in excess of par year 2 - paid in capital in excess of par year 1) =

cash received = ($110,000 - $100,000) + ($90,000 - $50,000) = $10,000 + $40,000 = $50,000

Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

horizontal; vertical

Explanation:

A merger is called horizontal if the company takes a competitor. This will result in the company taking the current market share of the competitor and widen its operational range, thus its called horizontal.

A merger will be called vertical if the company joins with the supplier or retailer. Its called vertical since the two businesses located at the different production stages (either on top or bottom). This will help them become more efficient in making or delivering their product, help them to decrease the cost of production.

Which investment has the least amount of risk?
exis [7]

Answer:

A. standard deviation = $500, expected return = $5,000

Explanation:

For analysis which investment involved the least amount of risk we need to determine the coefficient of variation i.e. shown below:

As we know that

Coefficient of variance = standard deviation ÷ expected return

A = $500 ÷ $5,000 = 0.10

B = $700 ÷ $500 = 1.40

C = $900 ÷ $800 = 1.125

D = $400 ÷ 350 = 1.143

As it can be seen that investment A has the leas amount of risk hence, the same is to be considered
