A split infinitive or cleft infinitive is a grammatical construction in which a word or phrase comes between the <em>to</em> and the bare infinitive of the <em>to form</em> of the infinitive verb. Usually an adverb or adverbial phrase comes between them. In this way the sentences that cntain split infinitives are:

- 3. Daniella’s parents asked her <em><u>to quickly set the</u></em> table
Now this is just a guess but I believe changes should be made to include the detail that there was a dead virus living inside the monkey as well as || add the phrase “and spread throughout the human species” to the end of the statement to more fully express the central idea || add a personal opinion about what may happen if the virus does “come alive.”
