Answer:

Option C

Explanation:

If an earthworm eats enough matter that it consumes 100 grams of nitrogen in its lifespan, how much nitrogen did it release into

the soil?

(A) 10 grams

(B) 27 grams

(C) 73 grams

(D) 100 grams

Solution -

Worms are considered as eating machines which take in organic matter and break it down into smaller pieces such as nutrients. These nutrients are then taken up by plants.

As per an estimate, an earthworm absorbs nearly 27% of the available nitrogen in their food.

The remaining available 73 percent of nitrogen is broken down and available as nutrients in the soil.

Therefore, out of 100 grams nearly 73 grams of  nitrogen is released into

the soil

How many amino acids would be encoded in the sequence 5′ AUGUUACGGAAU 3′ by a non-overlapping and maximally overlapping code?
Reil [10]
<span>In non-overlapping code there would be four amino acids, because there are just four triplets in the code, of which none is the stop codone. For maximally overlapping code there would be ten amino acids encoded, the four starting from the first letter: AUG, UUA, CGG, AAU, then three starting from the second letter: UGU, UAC, GGA, and the three starting from the third letter: GUU, ACG, GAA.</span>

evablogger [386]

Answer:

The correct answer is A and D

Explanation:

According to Russell's conception that lies in natural proton gradients. He states that Four billion years ago, alkaline fluids bubbled to produce mildly acidic oceans (As CO2 levels were about a thousand times higher, and it reacts with H2O to form carbonic acid, rendering the oceans mildly acidic). Acidity is just a measure of proton concentration,  higher in the oceans than in vent fluids. This difference has given rise to a natural proton gradient across the vent membranes that had the same polarity (outside positive) which is similar to the electrochemical potential as modern cells have. This might be the reason that last universal common ancestors of all the three domains have evolved proton pumps.

According to this article, why does the immature prefrontal cortex lead to<br> conflict for teens?
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

The immature prefrontal cortex lead to  conflict for teens because the teenagers when they try to use the frontal lobe for reasoning, they tend to overdo it and then giving their brain much work to do. This leads to conflict in teens.

Explanation:

In teens, the prefrontal cortex is immature and develops until the mid-20s of their age. It covers the front part of the frontal lobe. As a result of the immaturity of the prefrontal cortex in teens, they do not think or make decisions like that of adults. When they try to overdo with their immature prefrontal cortex, they end up in conflicts.
