Answer:

The correct answer is C. The provisions established by Pinckney's Treaty were important to the development of United States commerce because they encouraged the development of trade through the port of New Orleans.

Explanation:

The Pinckney Treaty was signed on October 27, 1795. It defined the boundaries of the United States with the Spanish colonies and the United States guarantee of navigational rights over the Mississippi River.

In terms of the treaty, Spain and the United States agreed that the southern boundary of the United States with the Spanish colonies of East Florida and West Florida was a line that began in the Mississippi River (specifically at 31 degrees north latitude) in the middle of the Chattahoochee River, and from there, following the river line to the link with the Flint River and from there directly to the headwaters of the St. Marys River, and from there, following the average channel line in the Atlantic Ocean. This describes the current border between the current state of Florida and Georgia and the northern boundary line with Louisiana.

As a result, it gave America the chance to develop trade through the Gulf of Mexico, as from then on their rights on those territories were guaranteed.
