Answer:

total paper required = 57 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

given data

slant height b = 4 cm

base side h = 3 cm

block height  h1 = 2 cm

solution

we get surface area of right squared pyramid by add here areas of all 4 triangles that is express as

area = 4 × Area of Triangles

area = 4 × \frac{bh}{2}

area = 4 × \frac{4\times 3}{2}

area = 24 cm²

and

surface are of the box is equal to the area of its 4 side faces + base

area = 4 × ( h × h1 ) + h²

area = 4 × ( 3 × 2 ) + 3²

area = 24 + 9

area = 33 cm²

so total paper required = 24 + 33

so total paper required = 57 cm²

if you are adding two fractions that are both greater than 1/2 what must be true about the sum? Give three examples to support y
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

If you are adding to fractions that are both greater than 1/2, the sum will be greater than 1.

Step-by-step explanation: 1/2 + 1/2 =1

Since both fractions are greater, obviously the sum will too.

Examples: 2/3+3/4= 1 5/12        4/6+6/9= 1 1/3

Hope this helps

The pucks used by the National Hockey League for ice hockey must weigh between and ounces. Suppose the weights of pucks produced
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

P(5.5

And we can find this probability using the normal standard distribution or excel and we got:

P(-2.769

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we assume the following complete question: "The pucks used by the National Hockey League for ice hockey must weigh between 5.5 and 6 ounces. Suppose the weights of pucks produced at a factory are normally distributed with a mean of 5.86 ounces and a standard deviation of 0.13ounces. What percentage of the pucks produced at this factory cannot be used by the National Hockey League? Round your answer to two decimal places. "

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the weights of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(5.86,0.13)

Where \mu=5.86 and \sigma=0.13

We are interested on this probability

P(5.5

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(5.5

And we can find this probability using the normal standard distribution or excel and we got:

P(-2.769

Mike earns $6.50 per hour plus 4% of his sales enter an equation for mikes total earnings, e, when he works x hours and has a to
Cerrena [4.2K]
First identify what each variable means. since X is the amount of hours he works, and he makes $6.50 an hour, you know you need to multiply those two numbers together creating the 6.50x. You also know Y is his total sales, and he earns 4% of Y. To find 4% of Y you need to turn the percent into a decimal, and to do this you move the decimal two spaces to the left. Since 4 is a whole number, the decimal is after the 4 so you get .04 as your decimal. Then youd multiply .04 by Y getting .04y. Lastly you add 6.50x + .04y to get E, mikes total earnings. So your final equation is

6.50x + .04y = e

Hope this all makes sense
