Please examine the following text format and answer if it is an example of compare/contrast or cause/effect. Briefly explain the

reason for your answer. Both geckos and tree frogs can climb up almost any surface, and their feet never lose their stickiness. The secret to sticking, however, is different for each. Geckos rely on superfine hairs split even finer at their tips. These incredibly fine hairs create a molecular attraction with the surface they are climbing. Tree frogs, on the other hand, have microscopic channels in their feet which prevent cracking and which also contain an adhesive fluid.

Cloud [144]

Answer:

"A pall-like silence fell upon the patrons of the game"

Explanation:

Something pall is something dark, gloomy, related to sadness and death. This shows conflict as the narrator is describing a match in which everything could be defined by the last inning. "we'd put up even money now, with Casey at the bat". "clung to the hope...". That moment will be defined by the outcome of that last inning. That's why a "pall-like" silence fell upon the patrons of the game. Because everything will be defined after.
