He starts by saying his name and age<em> "My name is Joseph McNeil, I am 65 years old and i was born in Wilmington, N.C, 1942."</em> He replied the question of why did he become an activist by saying that he has been an activist all his life. He also mentioned that he was blessed with strong and proud parents as well as good teachers this is why he learn't core values early in life.

He says if one sees something wrong, one should stand up and take it on and do the things that matter. in his words he says <em>"My core values allow me to focus on what i will call the dignity of mankind."</em> Therefore He say that the things he base his life on and things that matter to him which is his core values, he learn't early in life.
