Read this excerpt from the Cherokee creation story "How the World Was Made": When all was water, the animals were above in Galûñ

’lati, beyond the arch; but it was very crowded, and they wanted more room. They wondered what was below the water, and at last Beaver’s Grandchild, the little Water-beetle, offered to go and see if he could learn. He darted in every direction over the surface of the water, but could find no firm place to rest. Then he dived to the bottom and came up with some soft mud, which began to grow and spread on every side until it became the island that we call Earth. It was afterward fastened to the sky with four cords, but no one remembers who did this. At first Earth was flat and very soft and wet. The animals were anxious to get down, and set out different birds to see if it was yet dry, but they found no place to alight and came back again to Galûñ’lati. At last it seemed to be time, and they sent out the Buzzard and told him to go and make ready for them… When Earth was dry and the animals came down, it was still dark, so they got the sun and set it in a track to go every day across the island from east to west, just overhead… This story contains elements of which two types of creation stories?

A parallel that can be traced about the excerpt from Enrique's Journey that appears in the book Children of the Drug Wars by author Damon Barett and the information about migrating without the parents of Central America to North America is that the abandonment of these children by part of their parents or guardians is a great motivation for them not to return to their country of origin but to keep going north. The escape of a violent past and abandonment with the parents serves as an incentive for these children to travel to the north of the American continent

What does the term courtier poet of middling talent mean
Margarita [4]

To understand this phrase you have to analyze it in pieces.

Courtier is a word to describe a person that goes to the court to present, in this case, poetry. The court was the place where the powerful people (kings, princes, queens, royal governors...) of society would go to have a different kind of reunions and presentations.

Middling is a word that was used as a synonym for standard, regular. Here it means that the poet is not particularly bright, not all that talented.
