Read the excerpt from "Justin Lebo.” On the way home, Justin was silent. His mother assumed he was lost in a feeling of satisfac

tion. But he was thinking about what would happen once those bikes got wheeled inside and everyone saw them. How would all those kids decide who got the bikes? Two bikes could cause more trouble than they would solve. What conflict is introduced in this excerpt? The residents of the Kilbarchan Home for Boys may not know how to ride the bicycles Justin brought. There are not enough staff members at the Kilbarchan Home for Boys to oversee the distribution of the bicycles. The residents of the Kilbarchan Home for Boys may not like the bicycles that Justin restored. There are not enough bicycles for the residents of the Kilbarchan Home for Boys.

The conflict that is introduced in the above excerpt is:

There are not enough bicycles for the residents of the Kilbarchan Home for Boys.

Justin was a ten-year boy who was very caring for the needy. His parents too contributed to him in his generous nature of sharing. He had a great love to ride a bike. He bought an old bike and with the help of his father turned it into a brand new bike. Later, he thought about the boys who lived in Kilbarchan. Making and donating bikes to the boys gave him happiness and encouraged him to do such things more in his life. he started to remake many such bikes and offered them to the boys. A conflict arose in his mind that whether the bicycles were enough for the boys or not.

Pressed tightly against one another, in an effort to resist the cold, our heads empty and heavy, our brains a whirlwind of decay
nikdorinn [45]

Explanation:

1. Adjective that is best describing the atmosphere in this passage is ''never-ending''. It is showing the readers how the people are feeling about their situation which is also causing a never-ending night. The night was growing longer because of their numb minds and they were questioning themselves when they will die.

2. ''Our minds numb with indifference.'' is the excerpt from the passage that is revealing the atmosphere because the people in the story are indifferent. They are not afraid of death anymore because they know that they will die sooner or later. They are only questioning themselves when will that happen but they are also knowing that it does not matter when. They don't feel any emotions because they had surrendered.

3. This numb atmosphere of the story is showing us the meaning of it. People had found themselves in cold place and they stick together in order to survive the coldness. Their heads are heavy and they are remembering things. The author is showing that in those difficult situation people get indifferent and they can stop worrying about life. At the end of the passage, we can see that their thoughts are not good because they are making the situation even harder for them and causing never-ending night. The more they think, the more night is growing.
