Lishan starts off his speech with the picture of Niulang and Zhinu. At first, it may sound descriptive, but then He then goes on to tell the story behind the picture - the origin of Chinese Valentine's day.

He then goes on to draw parrallels between the Chinese Valentines day and that of the West. And for the rest of the speech he continues to make comparisons and draw contrasts.

So essentially, it is safe to say that Lishan used the comparison and contrasting method to pass acccross his message to his audience.
