Restrictive clauses are defined as a clause, or sentence, which functions as an adjective to describe the subject, or word, it modifies. Usually, restrictive clauses are confused by people with non-restrictive clauses, because in both cases it seems that the added clause is just additional information to the main sentence. However, there is a big difference between the two structures. Non-restrictive clauses are usually added information that if it is taken out, will not alter the main sentence; this is why, non-restrictive clauses are always placed between commas, or other limiting grammatical punctuation marks. However, restrictive clauses are not simply added information that can be removed from the main sentence without altering its meaning; they are vital information that further explains the meaning within a sentence. This is why the correct answer here is the last option: "The window in the living room provides the best natural sunlight" because the clause "in the living room" modifies the information of the window to let the reader understand exactly the location and thus the importance, of that window.

Incomplete question. The full question read;

1. PART A: Which TWO statements describe the central ideas of the text?

A.The only way to combat harmful technology addictions is through the use of similar technology that discourages screen time.

B. Because our society is built around the use of technology, there are no current solutions for technology addictions.

C . Excessive Internet and video game usage hasn’t been defined as an addiction in an official capacity, but it negatively impacts the lives of those who experience it.

D.Internet and video game habits evolve into addictions when the users’ brain is physically altered from their screen time.

E. While internet and video game habits can be inconvenient, they are not addictive and don’t pose any real threats to users.

F. Our society’s dependency on devices makes it difficult to change one’s relationship with technology, but health and technology professionals are exploring solutions.

2. PART B: Which TWO details from the text best support the answers to Part A?

A.“This omission is important not only because it shapes therapists’ and doctors’ understanding of their patients but because without an official DSM code, it is harder to bill insurers for treatment of a specific issue.” (Paragraph 5)

B.“Addiction may not be an official term in the U.S., at least not yet. But researchers and clinicians like Bishop, who avoid using it, are still concerned about some of the patterns of behavior they see.” (Paragraph 11)

C.“Gentile’s definition doesn’t address the questions of whether media can cause changes in your brain or create a true physical dependency.” (Paragraph 14)

D.“Young people with milder problems may learn from their more ‘deviant peers,’ she says.” (Paragraph 27)

E.“How can people, especially young people, forge healthier relationships with technology while continuing to use it every day? Some technologists believe that what has to happen is a change in the tech itself.” (Paragraph 30)

F.“The company has partnered with both UCLA Health and Columbia University Medical Center to research the efficacy of the app, and Zichermann says they plan to seek FDA approval as a ‘digiceutical.’” (Paragraph 42)3

Answer/Explanation:

1. F. Our society’s dependency on devices makes it difficult to change one’s relationship with technology, but health and technology professionals are exploring solutions.

This rightly fits the central ideas of the text because it noted the benefits of technology in our lives, but it stresses the need for balance and that's why mentioned was made about how health and technology professionals are exploring solutions.

2. F.“The company has partnered with both UCLA Health and Columbia University Medical Center to research the efficacy of the app, and Zichermann says they plan to seek FDA approval as a ‘digiceutical.’” (Paragraph 42)3.

Indeed, this statement rightly agrees with the answer in PART A as it shows practical ways in which solutions are been proferred.
