When you are trying to copy consecutive items in a word processor, spreadsheet, or presentation, you can choose to click the first item in your list, hold down (C) shift, and click the last item. This would highlight all the items from the first item you clicked to the last one. It applies both to words, numbers, paragraphs, and sentences.

Write a function summarize_letters that receives a string and returns a list of tuples containing the unique letters and their f
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

Explanation:

2nd part

def summarize_letters(string):

#Initializaing a empty dictionary

character_counter = {}

#converting all the characters to lowercase

string_lower = string.lower()

for i in string_lower:

#checking if the chacter presents in the dictionary then increase it by one and also to check if the character is alphabet

if i in character_counter and i.isalpha():

character_counter[i] = character_counter[i]+1

#checking if the character not present in the dictionary then assign 1

if i not in character_counter and i.isalpha():

character_counter[i] = 1

#converting the dictionary to list of tuples

list_of_tuples = [(k, v) for k, v in character_counter.items()]

return list_of_tuples

#3rd Part

#initializing a string of characters in alphabets

alphabets = 'a b b b b B A c e f g d h i j k B l m M n o p q r s P t u v w x y z'

print(summarize_letters(alphabets))

#importing the string module

import string

#pulling all the alphabets

alphabet = set(string.ascii_lowercase)

Assume that a function named swapdoubles has been defined and is available for use in this exercise: that function receives two
Nata [24]

Answer:

C++ Code:

void sort3(double &a, double &b, double &c)

{

   if(a > b)

       swapdoubles(a,b);

   if (b > c)

       swapdoubles(b,c);

   if (a > b)

       swapdoubles(a,b);

}

Explanation:

To change the values of a,b,c within the function, we pass the values by reference. Let us assume that number a = 3.14, b = 2.71, c = 3.04. Since a > b, values of a and b will be swapped.Now a = 2.71 and b = 3.14. Similariy, since b > c, they will be swapped. This way, we move the largest number to its correct position in the first two steps. If there are only three numbers, and the largest number is in its correct position, then for the two remaining numbers, we will only need atmost one swap to exchange their positions. hence, we perform a comparison of a > b once again to see if the b is smaller than a. if its not, then all a,b,c are in sorted order.

Write a second convertToInches() with two double parameters, numFeet and numInches, that returns the total number of inches. Ex:
mixer [17]

Answer:

   public static double convertToInches(double numFeet, double numInches){

       return (numFeet*12)+numInches;

   }

Explanation:

This technique of having more than one method/function having the same name but with different parameter list is called method overloading. When the method is called, the compiler differentiates between them by the supplied parameters. The complete program is given below

public class FunctionOverloadToInches {

   public static void main(String[] args) {

       double totInches = 0.0;

       totInches = convertToInches(4.0, 6.0);

       System.out.println("4.0, 6.0 yields " + totInches);

       totInches = convertToInches(5.9);

       System.out.println("5.9 yields " + totInches);

       return;

   }

   public static double convertToInches(double numFeet)

       {

           return numFeet * 12.0;

       }

       /* Your solution goes here */

   public static double convertToInches(double numFeet, double numInches){

       return (numFeet*12)+numInches;

   }

}
