How does this excerpt relate to the plot of the The Inheritors? It creates a shift in the mood, which was initially lighthearted

, to one that is somber and tense. It characterizes Emil, who is the first to mention the act, as one who exaggerates and worries unnecessarily. It establishes the setting by referring to acts of espionage that were only committed during certain periods in history. It strengthens the conflict by revealing the severity of the punishments that one convicted of spying will face.

Hello. You forgot to show the excerpt to which this question refers. This excerpt is:

Read the excerpt from Section 2 of the Espionage Act, which was enacted by the Congress of the United States on June 15, 1917. Section 2 Whoever, with intent or reason to believe that it is to be used to the injury or the United States or to the advantage of a foreign nation, communicated, delivers, or transmits, or attempts to, or aids, or induces another to, communicate, deliver or transmit, to any foreign government, or to any faction or party or military or naval force within a foreign country, whether recognized or unrecognized by the United States, or to any representative, officer, agent, employee, subject, or citizen thereof, either directly or indirectly and document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blue print, plan, map, model, note, instrument, appliance, or information relating to the national defence, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than twenty years.

Answer:

It strengthens the conflict by revealing the severity of the punishments that one convicted of spying will face.

Explanation:

"The Inheritors" is a book written by William Golding and establishes a conflict between homo sapiens and Neanderthals that culminated in the total extinction of Neanderthals as a punishment for the competition they exercised with homo sapiens.

The excerpt shown above about the Espionage Law establishes a relationship with the plot presented in "The Inheritors", since the excerpt strengthens the conflict by revealing the severity of the punishments that a convicted spying man will face.

<span>“Our distinct cultures nourish each one of us” - I think that this phrase is the one that best uses persuasion because it makes the readers think. It prompts them to think on how his or her own culture have nourished him or her and others of different culture. It also makes people think of how he or she benefited from other culture as well. </span>

You had set aside an evening to prepare yourself for an examination on the following
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

My name is Francis Cook, I'm an Accounting major, and i'm writing an important Accounting exam by 9 a.m tomorrow morning. I'm behind on my preparations for the exam tomorrow, i'm yet to understand and memorise some important formulas and you can imagine my frustration when aunt Jodie and uncle Sam called in just after my parents went to the theatre and I was forced to entertain them as a good host.

Uncle Sam wouldn't stop commenting about how tall I have grown and how he's sure I would be earning $100,000 a year immediately after graduation. I tried to smile as politely as possible and say the right words to each comment he made but it was difficult, considering I should be studying.

Aunt Jodie, who was partially deaf was more interested in asking me how school was and if I had a girlfriend. I had to repeat my answers twice for her to hear me and at that point I was near breaking point.

I finally managed to settle them and explain I had to study for my exams tomorrow as dad and mum would be home soon. Uncle Sam was watching a soccer match with a beer in his hand, and Aunt Jodie managed to doze off on the sofa and I was able to go back to my studies before my parents returned from the theatre.

Read the poems. A haiku by Buson and an excerpt from "Wine of the Fairies" by Percy Bysshe Shelley. What motif is addressed in b
Nuetrik [128]

Answer: The motif addressed in both forms of poetry is nature.

Explanation: A Motif is a symbolism that is repeated throughout the poem in different forms. The poem "Wine of the Fairies" by Percy Bysshe Shelley, and the majority of the haikus (Japanese poems) by Buson, use the motifs of nature and fantasy, mentioning fairies, flowers, seasons, and more. We can see this in the haiku "Natsukawa wo/ Kosu ureshisa yo/ Te ni zori", by Buson, where we can see verses such as:

The summer river.

It’s happy to walk across it.

My hands with zori sandal.

Likewise, in "Wine of the Fairies" Shelley describes his love for these elements when being drunk in the lines: "Which fairies catch in hyacinth bowls." "And when ’tis spilt on the summer earth", "Of the fairies bear those bowls so new!"
