Answer:

Debt Equity Ratio =2.5

Weight of debt =2.5/3.5

Weight of Equity =1/3.5

a. WACC =Weight of Equity*Cost of Equity+Weight of Debt*Cost of Debt*(1-Tax Rate)

10% = 1/3.5*Cost of Equity Capital+2.5/3.5*6%*(1-35%)

(10%-2.5/3.5*6%*(1-35%))*3.5 = Cost of Equity Capital

Cost of Equity Capital = 25.25%

b) Cost of Levered Equity Capital=Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital+Debt*(1-Tax Rate)/Equity*(Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital-Cost of Debt)

25.25% = Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital+2.5*(1-35%)*(Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital-6%)

Cost of Unlevered equity *(1+2.5*0.65)=(25.25%+2.5*0.65*6%)

Cost of Unlevered Equity =(25.25%+2.5*0.65*6%) / (1+2.5*0.65)

Cost of Unlevered Equity = 13.3333%

c) At debt Equity ratio of 0.75

Cost of Levered Equity Capital = Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital+Debt*(1-Tax Rate)/Equity*(Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital-Cost of Debt)

Cost of Levered Equity Capital= 13.3333% + (13.3333%-6%)*0.75*(1-35%)

Cost of Levered Equity Capital =16.9083%

WACC = Weight of Equity*Cost of Equity+Weight of Debt*Cost of Debt*(1-Tax Rate)

WACC = 1/(0.75+1)*16.9083%+0.75/(1+0.75)*6%*(1-35%)

WACC = 11.33%

At debt Equity ratio of 1.50

Cost of Levered Equity Capital=Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital+Debt*(1-Tax Rate)/Equity*(Cost of Unlevered Equity Capital-Cost of Debt)

Cost of Levered Equity = 13.3333% + (13.3333%-6%)*1.50*(1-35%)

Cost of Levered Equity = 18.5333%

WACC =Weight of Equity*Cost of Equity+Weight of Debt*Cost of Debt*(1-Tax Rate)

=1/(1+1.30)*18.5333%+1.30/(1+1.30)*6%*(1-35%)

=10.26%

During 2009, Accent Toys Plc., which began business in October of that year, purchased 15,000 units of a toy at cost of $10 per
telo118 [61]

Answer:

$183,000

Explanation:

The computation of the cost of goods sold using the FIFO method is shown below:

= Number of units purchased × per unit + additional units purchased × per unit

= 15,000 units × $10 + 3,000 units × $11

= $150,000 + $33,000

= $183,000

Since there are 18,000 units are sold

out of which 15,000 are at $10 and the remaining 3,000 units are at $11 and the same is to be considered

vazorg [7]

Answer:

Instructions are below.

Explanation:

1)

a) First, we need to calculate the total estimated overhead:

Total overhead= 1,100,000 + (5*50,000)= 1,350,000

Now, we can determine the overhead rate:

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= total estimated overhead costs for the period/ total amount of allocation base

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= 1,350,000/50,000

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= $27 per machine hour

b)

Job D-75:

Total cost= direct material + direct labor + allocated overhead

Total cost= 700,000 + 360,000 + 27*20,000

Total cost= $1,600,000

Job C-200:

Total cost= 550,000 + 400,000 + 27*30,000

Total cost= $1,760,000

c) Selling price= 150% of manufacturing costs

Job D-75= 1,600,000*1.5= $2,400,000

Job C-200= 1,760,000*1.5= $2,640,000

d) COGS= beginning finished inventory + cost of goods manufactured - ending finished inventory

COGS= 0 + (1,600,000 + 1,760,000) - 0

COGS= $3,360,000

2)

a)

Molding= (800,000/20,000) + 5= $45 per machine hour

Assembly= (300,000/30,000) + 5= $15 per machine hour

b)

Job D-75:

Total cost= 700,000 + 360,000 + 45*20,000

Total cost= $$1,960,000

Job C-200:

Total cost= 550,000 + 400,000 + 15*30,000

Total cost= $1,400,000

c)

Job D-75= 1,960,000*1.5= $2,940,000

Job C-200= 1,400,000*1.5= $2,100,000

d) COGS= 0 + (1,960,000 + 1,400,000) + 0

COGS= $3,360,000
