Answer:

Hank Aaron was consistently a great hitter. - In 1956, he won the league batting championship with an average of .328.

The fact that he had a batting average of .328 gives credence to the claim that he was consistently a great hitter.

Hank Aaron was one of the best baseball players in Major League Baseball. - Eight years later, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame of a sport is reserved for people who have made an impact in that sport and can be recognized as legends. By electing him into the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Baseball authorities recognize that Hank Aaron was one of the best to play baseball.

Hank Aaron continued to play baseball despite hardships. - Players traveled a great deal, played many games, and earned very little money.

Traveling a great deal takes up your time and playing so many games can impact one's health. This coupled with the meagre salaries earned were hardships Aron faced but still managed to keep playing.

Why does the author include details about Myrtle's spending
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

The author includes details about Myrtle's spending habits:

B. to show that Myrtle spends Tom's money.

Explanation:

Myrtle and Tom are characters in F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby." Tom and Myrtle are married, but not to each other. Tom, who is a millionaire, is married to Daisy, who also comes from a rich family. Myrtle, on the other hand, is married to George Wilson, a mechanic and owner of a gas station.

Even though Myrtle is poor, she acts as if she were rich when she is with Tom. It is as if his money is her money. At a certain point in the story, on their way to the apartment Tom bought specially to meet with her, Myrtle has Tom buy her a dog. They then spend the whole day drinking and partying with a group of friends. The author includes these details to show that Myrtle has a sense of ownership when it comes to Tom and his money. She wants comfort and luxury, so she uses her lover's money to obtain them.
