Read this excerpt from "Not a Dove, But No Longer a Hawk." I remember distinctly the thrill of climbing aboard a U.S. Army helic
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

The correct answer would be option b:"The author once felt pride and optimism about the war".

Explanation:

In the excerpt, the author says that "he was proud of the young American pilots sitting at the controls in the cockpit" and that "he was grateful for the opportunity to witness this adventure and report it".

It just says that he was excited to get on a U.S Army helicopter, it does not say nor infer that is was his first flying experience, therefore, option a is incorrect.

It doesn't say and it cannot be inferred that the U.S soldiers are trained in hand to hand combat, so option c is also incorrect.

The author barely mentions the Vietcong guerillas, and he does not seem to have any respect for them since he was excited about war, so option d is also incorrect.

How does Bruno’s behaviour indicate that animals too have emotions, affection, memory and individual traits of character?
Damm [24]

Answer:

This question relates to “The Bond Love”:

Bruno is a bear that was found in the field by the author of the story who gives it to his wife. Both take great affection as Bruno grows. Despite being a wild animal, the bear is kind and playful with the family and even the other pets that live with it. After a while, Bruno is sent to the zoo leaving the author's wife and Bruno very sad. After three months, the wife visits Bruno at the zoo and the feeling of happiness of both is incomparable.  This demonstrates that animals also have feelings, emotions and deep bonds with those who care for them and treat them well. Animals do not forget those they have loved and especially those who have given love.

At the end, she got permission to take Bruno back home.

He was tall, gaunt, with a pale skin and sunken eyes the color of a kingfisher's wing, neither blue or green.
MrMuchimi

In literature, the term tone refers to the writer's attitude or feelings about the subject matter as well as towards the audience. Such tone is created by authors through the use of literary elements, such as diction( defined as  word choice),  syntax ( or the grammatical arrangement of words), imagery ( referred to the vivid appeals to the senses); details (related with facts that are either  included or omitted) and figurative language (which refers to  the comparison with apparently unrelated things.

In the particular segment.. “He was tall, gaunt, with a pale skin and sunken eyes the color of a kingfisher's wing, neither blue nor green...” details and figurative languages seem to be used by the author as literary elements to express his/her attitude towards Kenny, which could be categorized as indifferent

A central idea of "Nameless, Tennessee" is that no matter its name, it's the inhabitants of a town who make it special.
jekas [21]
Hello! Sorry this is a little late.

The answer to your question would be Option Four, "It was in one of those moments that you know at the time will stay with you to the grave: the sweet pie, the gaunt man playing the old music, the coals in the stone glowing orange, the scent of kerosene and hot bread."

I can 100% confirm this answer is correct :)

Hope this helps, and have a great day!
