Well, this is not a hard task for me because my mother tongue is Spanish. I live in Peru and here everybody speaks Spanish. However, people don't speak Spanish well. They commit many mistakes and I think the main problem they have is that they don't read. In general people don't read so much in Peru and maybe this is a problem in the USA, too. What I do is reading a newspaper every day and I like to do crosswords. Recently, I won 150 dollars in a raffle of crosswords. Reading is fantastic because you can learn new words and you can express yourself in different ways. My piece of advice for everyone trying to learn another language is to read as much as possible. Succesful learners are the ones that read. I also speak French and some German. I do crosswords in German and I listen to French songs often and I also read things in French and German and I teach English in a language school. I would like to learn Japanese, Chinese, Arabic. In order to to so I am going to try to read articles in the objective languages. so more than objectives for next week or things like that, I think it is better to go the distance. Persevere in whatever yo do and you are going to do it. Another piece of advice is Carpe diem which means seize the day, which means study every day don't waste your time.
