The correct answer is B.

Both of this poems by Langston Hughes address the inequalities that African American suffered.

In "I Dream a World," Hughes describes a world in which there would be no injustice, no discrimination or hate. A world in which everyone could be free, regardless of the colour of their skin.

At the same time, in "Democracy," he argues that democracy cannot be achieved as long as people are not given the rights they deserve. As long as black people are oppressed and enslaved, there cannot be real democracy.

irga5000 [103]

The author is trying to convey that in recent years, the extinction rate for many animal species has significantly increased. He began his point in the first sentence of the excerpt: “Species are disappearing at an accelerating rate through human action, primarily habitat destruction but also pollution and the introduction of exotic species into residual natural environments.” Then, he further emphasizes his point in the sentence: “As the last forests are felled in forest strongholds like the Philippines and Ecuador, the decline of species will accelerate even more.” Which is immediately followed by another sentence that supports his argument: “In the world as a whole, extinction rates are already hundreds or thousands of times higher than before the coming of man.

How would the meaning of the excerpt change if the word consultation was replaced with the word meeting?
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

Explanation: It would change the way the captain handled confrontation". Could be the answer. The meaning of the excerpt would change if the word consultation was replaced with the word meeting in the way that It would change the way the captain handled confrontation.

First of all, it is important to state the difference between consultation and meeting as simple words, Consultation differs from meeting in the sense that it is a more formal and argumentative way of facing a situation then if this word that has a strong meaning for meeting that is more friendly, the message would imply that the way the people act will be different.

People won’t “hear” you, or pay attention, until they perceive what you perceive. So you’ve got to make your position crystal clear — help them to see what you see, using storytelling, description, personal experiences, case histories, and anything that will put the prospect in the right position to understand your message.Make it personal. When you make your writing personal, you make it important. Personally interesting or perceptually meaningful information can grab attention, bring clarity, and help it slip right into your prospective client’s awareness. You don’t have to do a lot of explaining to tell someone his house (or his hair) is on fire — because it’s so personal to him. You immediately get attention.Use emotion. Emotion is a great way to bring clarity to your business messages while making them personal. Emotion also comes with the triple bonus of adding clarity, giving clients a reason to talk about you and your business, and triggering the circuits in the brain that activate behavior and decisions — emotion is much better at that than logic is. Emotional messages get attention.Don’t take chances with attention
