In "Arrangement in Black and White," the reader can recognize that the woman is racist.

Even though the woman believes African-American musician, Walter Williams, is very talented, she can't help by stated that she is "untroubled" by the color of his skin. In her attempt to not sound racist, her constant comments stating she isn't, leads the reader to believe otherwise.
