The following passage is taken from Ecclesiastes, a book in the Old Testament. First, summarize the main idea behind the quote.

Then write a well-organized essay in which you agree with, disagree with, or qualify the assertion the quote is making. Give logical reasons for your position. Support your thesis with evidence drawn from your reading, personal experience, and/or observation. Eccelsiastes 7:3 "Sorrow is better than laughter: for by sadness of the countenance the heart is made better."

I had to read the other scriptures along with the one you included to get the whole idea since scriptures runon.

main idea: Sorrow ( feelings of loss disappointment suffered by oneself)
is better than cheer because sadness makes the heart better.

Outline ( for the essay you need to create)

- Do you agree with the quote? If so why, if not, why not?

disagree: I feel better when I laugh vs feel sad
Laughter is positive while being sad is negative( In how it affects others too)
Other people like me when I laugh vs being sad
depression is unhealthy and dangerous

-agree: I know i am stronger when I can still live with my grief
I can relate to others and their sadness when I am sad
I feel better when I can cry about things that hurt ( loss death rejection loneliness)
