The probable answer for this question is yes, the growing number of interest groups or lobbyists, as they are called in politics, are continuously growing. Lobbyist groups not only represent big businesses in the country but rather other respectable folks that want their pleas to be heard. Though it may seem that lobbying is happening in the open, these people just want to get the enough support for the cause of their groups. These groups can be affiliated with churches, senior citizen groups, universities, among others.

Senator Byrd's conclusion is strongly supported by the rising number of interest groups. With more groups involved in lobbying and more money being spent to fund those efforts, Byrd's call for open, ethical practices will need to be enforced all the more. The increased presence of organizations that actively lobby fuels Byrd's concern that fairness and balance in government will be compromised and that individual voices could be drowned out by "lavishly funded" interest groups.

Iteru [2.4K]

The correct answers are A) The Directory was inefficient, unpopular, and unable to bring stability to France and C) Napoleon was ambitious and temporarily allied with two members of the Directory to gain power.

The TWO sentences that describe the context in which Napoleon rose to power are the following: The Directory was inefficient, unpopular, and unable to bring stability to France and Napoleon was ambitious and temporarily allied with two members of the Directory to gain power.

Napoleon, a strong military leader that had proven his value in the battlefield, had the character and experience needed to step in as the ruler of France under the context of a weak and inefficient Directory. He had what it took to establish stability to France. Napoleon was very astute and wit, full of ambition to increase his power and presence in the nation, and those characteristics drove him to reach the pinnacle of power in France.

why do you think the Catholic Church was so committed to defending the literal meaning of the Bible passages
Novosadov [1.4K]
The main reason why the Catholic Church was committed to defending the literal meaning of the Bible passages is because they feared that people would stray from the church if they started to develop their own, different interpretations of the Bible.

pashok25 [27]
The First World War was a cataclysm that disrupted countless lives. As a modern, total war, it brought men and women into active battle zones across Europe as well as in parts of Africa and Asia. New technology further extended the borders of the war. Air power made it possible to launch attacks against civilian populations at some distance from traditional frontlines, and U-boats sank passenger ships, such as the Lusitania in 1915, that were loaded with men, women, and children crossing the Atlantic. In addition, albeit with less novelty, invading armies ended up occupying swathes of territory. Civilian women and men in Belgium, the north and east of France, Serbia, and parts of the Russian empire among other locales came under the control of occupying powers.
