The author includes the sentences above in the letter to explain that there is a more peaceful way to solve the inequality problem. Marthin Luther King, Jr. described the bitterness and hatred as the same act as the violence. Therefore, he suggested people solve the problem by doing another way other than bitterness and hatred.
