Answer:

The denotation of the word strong in this excerpt from Binding Memories is powerful. <u>The correct answer is the first one.</u>

Explanation:

In this context, the word strong means capable enough. Capable of sustaining "<em>entire worlds</em>", strong enough, powerful enough. I think the word that best describes the denotation is the first one because <u>it embraces</u> all the other adjectives; the spine is <em>well built</em>, it has the proper attitude, and is capable of holding big "<em>weight</em>". It is<em> the guide</em>, the one that supports other parts.

Studentka2010 [4]

Answer :

In the given excerpt from the short story "Harrison Bergeron," Hazel’s comments help Vonnegut develop his critique of American society by illustrating the absurdity of trying to make everyone equal.

"Harrison Bergeron" has been written as a satire to critique the people's claims of equality in every sense. Cambridge English Dictionary defines "satire" as "a way of criticizing people or ideas in a humorous way, especially in order to make a political point, or a piece of writing that uses this style."

The following lines from the text support this idea :

"The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal.  They weren't only equal before God and the law.  They were equal every which way.  Nobody was smarter than anybody else.  Nobody was better looking than anybody else.  Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else.  All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General."

In his short story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut stresses that suppression of individual creativity and talent is required in order to achieve absolute equality in every sense. He makes the point that everyone is not equal. Some people have below average intelligence, some people have average intelligence and some have superior intelligence. It is totally absurd to expect a person of superior intelligence to wear handicaps to make people with average intelligence feel better.

Answer:

Parents cannot control their child's decisions.

Explanation:

"Bul_GO! -Gi" addresses the story of a mother who, despite being a very talented artist and wishes her son to follow in her footsteps, she does not impose anything on her. She doesn't require him to do the same as she does, but she respects the boy's individuality and allows him to make his own decisions about how he wants to run his own life. This creates a very good relationship between them, capable of making the child appreciate the mother's wishes.

Have you ever had to adjust your communication style to engage a customer or teammate? what was the situation and the outcome?
stealth61 [152]
Most of the people in a third world country who deals with a lot of tourists or foreigners can relate to this. There will always be a language barrier that you should be wary of. I had worked as a tour-guide once and I had Japanese customers with me. As you may know, most of Japanese people have a hard time speaking in or understanding English and if they don't, they somehow find it difficult to pronounce some words. As a tour-guide, I need to speak slowly and clearly so that they will be able to understand every word that I say. In turn, they respond and ask questions to me which means that they are hesitant to do so.
