Read the excerpt from Chapter 3 of Wheels of Change . Bloomers did gain some converts in the 1850s, but the backlash was so stro

ng that Amelia Bloomer and her colleagues gave up the fight. Some like-minded women formed the Dress Reform Association in 1857, aiming to win women the right to decide what they would and would not wear. However, the outbreak of the Civil War in 1861 stalled their efforts. Why did Amelia Bloomer stop advocating for bloomers? Other advocacy groups took up her cause. She changed her views on women’s clothing. The opposition to her cause overwhelmed her. Her ideas gained popularity within society.

<span>Amelia Bloomer stop advocating for bloomers because Her ideas gained popularity within society.

Bloomers were named after Amelia Bloomer because under her influence, she made the said style widely-known. This style was already worn before but it only gained popularity when Amelia Bloomer introduced it to the public by writing about it in The Lily, a temperance newspaper.

alexandr402 [8]

Answer: Time progresses chronologically with one flashback and a return to the original time.

Explanation:

In the first part, Zeitoun is thinking of the canoe (present time), this leads to a memory of the time the canoe was stolen from the Claiborne house, he and Kathy noticed it when he was released from prison (flashback), then he thinks on how all the stolen things were replaced except for the canoe and he misses it (return to the present), finally he keeps thinking about if he should get a new canoe and if his family would like it (still present).
