Read the following excerpt from "The Four Hundred Year Old Woman" by Bharati Mukherjee and answer the following question. The pe

ople I write about are culturally and politically several hundred years old: consider the history they have witnessed (colonialism, technology, education, liberation, civil war, uprooting). They have shed old identities, taken new ones, and learned to hide scars. They may sell newspapers and clean your offices at night. Through the evidence in the excerpt above, what is not implied by the author? She cares deeply about the experiences of immigrants around her. Immigrants often take jobs that others do not want. Immigrants often have to change and become new people when they move to America. Many immigrants have witnessed colonialism, technology, education, liberation, civil war, and uprooting before and during their time in America.

Answer:

Immigrants often take jobs that others do not want.

Explanation:

Bharati Mukherjee in her essay "The Four Hundred Year Old Woman" shows how immigrants have to live in order to lead a normal life away from their native lands. Being an immigrant herself, she relates to the condition of immigrants in their new homes.

Her essay narrates how people displaced from their own homes have to endure sufferings in their new environments. Her subjects are "<em>culturally and politically several hundred years old</em>", with a history of "<em>colonialism, technology, education, liberation, civil war, uprooting</em>". Through the passage, we can see the sense of concern she has for these people, how they had to start afresh and do odd jobs just to lead a life.

Write a paragraph about the costs and benefits of having insurance.
andrezito [222]
The cost of insurance can be quite high especially for life insurance if obtained when one has a medical condition but can at least alleviate anxiety of spouses who worry about their financial security if their partner dies early. because then they can get financial help to pay for mortgages/rent etc. Also, for car insurance, the premiums can be high but if one gets in an accident, especially if one does not have fault, then the cost of repairs and some medical treatment will be paid.

Hitman42 [59]
The correct answer for the question that is being presented above is this one: "Leave my loneliness unbroken! quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!" That line shows that the speaker has lost hope of ever being able to move on and recover from the pain of losing Lenore.
