Structures that extend from the lateral walls of the nasal cavity are called nasal Conchae. It is also called Turbinate, or Turbinal. The nasal Conchae <span>consists of a </span>lamina<span> of </span>spongy bone, curled upon itself like a scroll and is responsible for regulating the airflow through the nasal passages.<span>The bones expand the surface area of the nasal cavity, allowing the air to come into better contact with the cavity walls.</span>
