He was born in Mississippi and later he relocated to Tennessee when he was 13 years old. He started his career in the year 1954.  

A musical session that was held on July 1954 which was going not as planned but later that night when everyone was about to go home, <u>Elvis Presley suddenly took his guitar and started to sing a song which he wrote himself, “Heartbreak Hotel”  and all of a sudden all his band started to play madly. Three days after this incident, DJ Dewey Phillips played that song in a show and everyone started asking who the one who recreated this song was and within no time, that song became a mega-hit. </u>
