Read the excerpt from the beginning of Chapter 5 of Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott. "What in the world are you going to do n

ow, Jo?" asked Meg one snowy afternoon, as her sister came tramping through the hall, in rubber boots, old sack, and hood, with a broom in one hand and a shovel in the other. "Going out for exercise," answered Jo with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. "I should think two long walks this morning would have been enough! It's cold and dull out, and I advise you to stay warm and dry by the fire, as I do," said Meg with a shiver. "Never take advice! Can't keep still all day, and not being a (psy)cat, I don't like to doze by the fire. I like adventures, and I'm going to find some." Why does Alcott most likely begin the chapter with character dialogue?
to introduce the characters in the story
to set up the problem in the story
to establish the mood of the story
to keep the momentum of the story going

Alcott most likely begin the chapter with character dialogue to keep the momentum of the story going. In order to preserve the set pace of the story, author decided to continue dialogue that started in previous chapter. When dividing the story on chapters, she wanted to hide this 'gap', that readers usualy feel between them.

Describe three important factors to consider when developing multicultural therapeutic communication skills. Explain how you wil
marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

Explanation:

“Multicultural communication is the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of other cultures” (Tamparo 30). Developing multicultural therapeutic communication skills is very important in the modern era. Everyday we get more connected to each other; through videos and social media, we learn and understand other cultures. The most important factors are:

1. Empathy: By developing multicultural communication skills, we can show empathy to the person who is talking to us. As we know, empathy is the ability to understand and relate to the feeling of others. With it we get more connected with people.

2. Knowledge/Culture: By developing multicultural communication skills, we learn the different cultures that exists in the world. We learn how they work and affect each person. But most important we learn to respect and embrace it.

3. Approachable: In the workplace learning these skills makes a huge difference. Customer will feel more comfortable talking to you and this will create and atmosphere of comfortableness and respect between you and the other person. You will have the ability of being “likable” and everything will flow better.

1. Which of these activities is the best example of cunning?
prohojiy [21]

I think this is right but I'm not sure but I'll try my best

1) D because cunning refers to skill in deceit and trickery, and telling a convincing lie is the only option that involves both skill and deceit.

2) D because to speak to somebody in confidence means that you want to be confident that the information shared is between the group you share confidence with. Nurse wishes to speak to Romeo in confidence that he will not tell anybody because it is a secret and she wishes only for Romeo to know.

3) B because to counter something means to go against that thing. An example is a counter-argument, or an argument against another argument.

4) B because that is the act against someone. All the other options demonstrate a command, but not a countermand, if you get my gist.

5) A (i think) because the decision to get married was an unwise and hasty decision made of young lust, and ulimately caused the great tragedy. If Romeo and Juliet had taken things slower, things might've been possible renegotiated or at least thought over.

6) B because Friar Lawrence is really Romeo's 'father figure' because his father is so often absent in his life. He acts as a mentor and tries to help Romeo get married to his love.
