How is the word laud and welcome different
Luba_88 [7]

Hi my dear friend,

Definition of laud: praise (a person or their achievements) highly, especially in a public context.

welcome:an instance or manner of greeting someone.

I dont see how these could be similar but they are similar in greeting someone. Yet one is greeting someones achievements and the other greeting someone to a place ( home, food area etc.)

~Thank you

Describe Wiesel's opinion of his fellow Sighet citizens. Find and write a line from the text the supports your statement.
Naddika [18.5K]
The people of Sighet, like many Jewish people in Europe at the time, are naive and unable to believe the atrocities being committed by the Nazis.

When Moshe returns to Sighet and tells everyone about what he experienced, they are unable to believe him. Instead of believing him, the people of Sighet say he is crazy. If they were to believe him, they would have to admit the fact they were in danger as well. They do not believe until it is far too late to leave.
