Mark Twain was a staunch anti-imperialist. He felt that European powers and the United States committed a grave sin by meddling in the affairs of less powerful nations around the world. He felt that the United States was moving in the wrong direction when it received control Guam, The Phillipines, and Cuba from the Spanish Empire.
Roosevelt felt the opposite way. He wanted to see America rise in power and prestige on the global stage, and saw an increased military and economic presence around the world as the way to achieve that. He also felt that the world would be better off with a more influential America, since American values included democracy and basic human rights.

List three of the seven behaviors commonly observed when someone is exhibiting critical thinking. Give examples of each of the t
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

Critical thinking is a considered reflection on whether one should accept or reject a statement or postpone a judgment on it and with how much certainty one should accept or reject it.

Critical thinking applies equally to opinion formation and decision-making. It takes into account testimony, experience and arguments and often includes the interpretation and evaluation of testimonies, arguments and information and their context and importance, as well as the assessment of what criteria or methodology is appropriate to decide the case. Critical thinking relies not only on reasoning but also on accuracy, clear thinking and fairness as appropriate.

Therefore, critical thinking has three fundamental components: analysis (for example, the analysis of a supposed truth), criticism (the counteracting of said supposed truth against the values defended by those who think critically) and the foundation (the defense of the personal values of those who think critically).
