He showed that belief by building schools and inviting scholars to his court.

This is the best way to combine the two sentences. The parallel structure is correct with both phrases beginning with the -ing form of the verb followed by the direct object. And is the correct conjunction for the sentence because Alfred the Great both built schools and invited scholars. Using while to join the sentences makes it seem that the one event relies on the other. But and yet are also not accurate conjunctions because they indicate a incorrect relationship between the ideas.

Pay attention to how the poem at once seems to describe a pleasant outing and the experience of being called away from life by d
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

In the poem, the speaker seems to be discussing a pleasant date, as if oblivious to the fact that this is a journey to death. The tone of the poem seems light and perhaps even dismissive of all the scenes passing by, as though these cornerstones of life were not terribly significant. However, the underlying mood of the poem is somewhat sad because the speaker is describing a world she’s leaving behind. This difference between the descriptions of the outing and of dying creates some dramatic irony.  The speaker sees but doesn’t really see the world of the living because she’s already dead.

When I first started at Hidaya I hated wearing the hijab. I found it itchy and I absolutely despised wearing it during gym class
klasskru [66]
I would say the answer is D.
This is because of the way she talks about how she is uncomfortable with the hijab in the begging but releases that idea. Instead she goes into a more “I want to be as comfortable as those girls” idea and the story/excerpt tends to follow that idea until the end of it. Also the central ideas seem to be revealed at ends of stories for example she even states, “I was even a bit jealous” and “They looked so at peace with their identity and everybody got to know and respect them of their own terms.” Which implies she wants to have that sense of comfort in herself that she doesn’t have unlike the other girls.
Hope this helped!! :)
