While the Fair Deal Act was many proposals, offered by President Harry S. Truman to Congress, the term was simply a general characterization of a big agenda for the whole country that while sounding nice, was never fully implimented. The fair deal reforms that did not happen were a national health insurance program called Apex, and civil rights for all.

You didn't show us the list of choices, but I can give you some information about the Fair Deal.

President Truman outlined his Fair Deal" in a speech delivered in January, 1949. He proposed that Congress work on:

 • - Expanding Social Security
 • - Increase minimum wage from 40 to 75 cents an hour
 • - Implementing anti-discrimination policies in employment
 • - Addressing civil rights issues
 • - Expanding public housing
 • - Providing federal aid to education
 • - Providing federal assistance to farmers
 • - Establishing national health insurance

There were more proposals as well, but most of the proposals (including most of those noted above) did not gain any traction with Congress. Congress did extend Social Security coverage and raise the benefits, and also did raise the minimum wage. But other proposals did not go into effect.

Make a prediction about the topic of Dwight Okita’s poem titled “In Response to Executive Order 9066: All Americans of Japanese
MariettaO [177]
All i know is that i was written by a japanese girl. From what I read, the executive order was issued during World War II, and that it was eventually used against those with foreign enemy ancestry like Japanese, Italians and Germans.

They would be sent to internment camps, the camps were described as neutral countries or confined in a place without trial.

So this poem means that the Japanese girl is one of those people that would be sent to another country or place/relocation centers outside or within US area.

But the Japanese girl has already made friends, you know lived her life, made friends with an American girl, this showed that they have bonded.

The tomatoes that she mentioned was another sign that the areas they would be relocating would probably be like a big warehouse or something or a place where she's not free to do anything even plant tomatoes.

When she said that she would give the tomato seeds to her friend so she can plant them for her, that means they will never see each other again. It's actually a very sad poem.
