The correct answer to this question would be alternative D)"it can distract the consumer from relevant news about the movement."

In order to galvanize a movement, there are many possibilities, and one of them is as stated in alternative D, by distracting the consumers from relevant news about the movement, be it bad or good news.

By distracting the public, it may turn their attention away from important facts that could change their opinion on the subject. It can be seen as a sort of manipulation.

lesya692 [45]

Answer:

This is a primary source.  He wrote the letter to impress the Spanish king and his court, to convey that his expedition had been a good investment because the place was rich and luxurious, that there were gold and other riches to plunder, and peoples to force into submission to the crown of Spain. It is reasonable to expect that his letter stimulated the mind and imagination of contemporary Spaniards.
