Color is one example like it is used to draw your eye to the girl holding the blue ribbon. The artist uses a black background and then placed the girl in front of a very colorful back drop. Your eyes are drawn into the girl because she had darker skin and darker hair. He used elements of art like line, shape, and many other things. I hope this helps. :)
