If this was the first paragraph given:
"IT is Friday, April 14, 1865. Four years of ghastly civil war are coming to a close. Teeming with hope, the North celebrates heartily: in Washington, bonfires burn, flags snap festively, a 500-gun salute booms. Meanwhile, the president is going to the theater. At Ford's, Abraham Lincoln acknowledges the audience's applause with a slight bow before settling his tired frame into his chair. Then, at 10:15, a bullet tears into his brain, plunging the nation into chaos"

This is similar in Act 1 of the Tragedy of Julius Ceasar because the commoners were also outside and waiting for the return of Julius Ceasar, who they will celebrate with for winning over Pompey.

In the 1st paragraph, the people were also celebrating their win over their Southern enemies. They celebrated by making bonfires, displaying flags, and the gun salute booms.

In Act 1, the commoners wore their Sunday's best and did not report to their work because they were waiting patiently for Julius Ceasar whom they would most likely greet with boisterous cheers.

Answer:

Even though Tina told her to skip it, Lexie had a nagging feeling in her gut that if she missed her brother's spelling bee, he would be extremely disappointed in her as well as her parents. After a half an hour of going through the list of pros and cons she had written, she called Tina and told her that although she truly did want to go to the show with them, she thought that her family should always come before friends. Tina completely understood and when Jess heard the news, she was disappointed but came to terms with Lexie's decision. As soon as Lexie arrived at the spelling bee competition, her brother's face lit up with pure happiness and joy when he noticed that Lexie was there with their parents. This was the right decision. Lexie thought while she cheered on her brother. At the end of the championship, her brother won and they all went out to celebrate.

Write two to three sentences that describe Thoreau’s viewpoint in this passage.
Deffense [45]
Thoreau's overall viewpoint was that it was in solitude with nature that a man could really learn to thrive. He argued that a life of luxury was an unnecessary one and that a man could easily make a living without even having to sweat if he would just strip his life of unneeded, materialistic items. I hope this helps, although I am not sure how to narrow this down seeing as your question is incomplete.
