Question 1
bearhunter [10]

Answer:

B. He has not earned enough money to spend on the upcoming holiday.

C. <em>“For Reuven the furrier it was a bad year, and after long hesitation he decided to sell Zlateh the goat.” </em>

Explanation:

Isaac Bashevis Singer's short story "Zlateh the Goat," tells the story of how a poor furrier's attempts to sell his prized goat to cover up the expenses he'd need for the upcoming Hanukkah. But with the sudden snowfall and the 'connection' that the goat and Aaron, the one responsible for delivering the goat to the butcher, the goat was saved and thus remained with the family.

At the beginning of the story, the narrator described how business was poor for the furrier, Reuven which led to the decision to sell the goat to the butcher. This will enable the family to have some money to spend on the Hanukkah festival. This implication is supported by the statement that Reuven <em>"decided to sell Zlateh . . ."</em> to buy gifts for the family and <em>"holiday necessaries"</em>.

Thus, the correct answer is option B for part A and option C for Part B.

Explain what the Union army did to complete Step 3 of the Anaconda Plan from 1864 to 1865
AysviL [449]
The first step was the development of Anaconda plan, which aims to set up a naval blockade of the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, and to transport around 60,000 Union troops. This  will enable them to cut off all trade and they can put hold to all forts and town along the way. However, the plan was rejected and was never put into action due to it being passive and slow to implement. With the aim to end the war quickly, Anaconda plan was revisited as a 3rd step. Wherein they employ the general framework of the plant but added combat to play on the screen. The general idea of the plan still contributes to put an end of the Civil War.

Travka [436]

At first, the US government confined American Indians to reservations. Reservations are designated pieces of lands that were given to American Indian groups. This began under the presidency of Andrew Jackson when he helped to pass the Indian Removal Act. This removed Cherokee members from their homelands in modern day Georgia to reserved pieces of land in modern day Oklahoma.

Next, they encouraged American Indians to assimilate. The American government developed Indian boarding schools where Native American children could be sent to learn more about American culture. This resulted in the destruction of many native cultures, as students were forced to learn English and were often punished for expressing their native language or culture.

Then, they divided up American Indian land into individual plots for family use. This was part of the Dawes Act of 1887, which resulted in land being held by individual families rather than the land being owned communally.
