The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Pioneer's day number 12th. More sweat, less food.

June 19th. Crossing the Missouri River.

Omaha was a bad memory, nothing good happened there. Tired of walking so many miles, searching for some nutritious food, and nothing. I am tired, my wife is pale and every day seems she is getting sicker. Our food reserves are at a minimum. It seems that other pioneers are living in similar conditions. The scenario is the same. Birds singing, hot weather, no wind. We keep on walking beside the river trying to maintain the courage to keep on walking. We devise some Indians that come and go. We try to make them stop and talk, but it is impossible. It seems like we are invisible to them. Maybe we are. It is part of the curse of the Oregon Trail...

How are you today mother? Has father bought you the horse I've asked to be a present for your birthday? Mother today's journey in the Oregon Trail was so far the hardest I ever experience. We are now crossing the Rocky Mountains when one-third of our group was killed by Native Americans when they have tried to raid our wagon in the end part of our convoy. I myself was wounded because of the arrow hits my left shoulder while we're fighting the Natives. I asked the captain of the military officers with us if we can turned back and he said if we return backed east in large numbers we will be prone to another ambush and we are also halfway of our journey better to continue than to turned back. He also said that he will order 2 men to return bringing our letters with them. I love you mother.

Marina86 [1]

The correct answer is B. Massachusetts

This can be explained as the geographical conditions of this area made agriculture difficult and also Cape Cod located in Massachusetts became an important point of fishing multiple species including cod, tuna, mackerel, among others. Also, during the colonies time, Massachusetts was one of the most important colonies and the considered as the center of New England. Thus, it was Massachusetts the colony that was mainly affected by the development of shipbuilding and cod fishing industries.

Which of these BEST describes the purpose of the Alien and Sedition Acts? A) They prevented people from becoming citizens of the
riadik2000 [5.3K]

D) They were aimed at people who were criticizing President Adams' foreign policy.

Adams was criticized for his neutrality in conflicts between Britain and France as well as how he handled the XYZ Affair. The Alien and Sedition Acts were meant to protect the reputation of the federal government and prevent people with extreme views from entering the country.

The Sedition Act allowed for punishment for those that spoke out against the government. Federalists like John Adams believed negative speech about the government showed weakness of the new government to the world. He believed that the US needed to show support of the government. The Alien Act was put into place to limit the rights of new immigrants entering into the US. Adams was fearful that immigrants would introduce extreme ideas coming out of the French Revolution. The Alien and Sedition Acts were met with fierce resistance and criticism. The critics led by Thomas Jefferson would form the Democratic-Republican Party to counter a growing Federalist power.

Nikolay [14]

The correct answer is redress.

Redressing is a process in which an individual tries to get the ruling of a previous court case changed. This process involves a system of appeals, with the Supreme Court being the highest court of appeals in the country. Any ruling that results from a Supreme Court trumps any state law currently in place. This is because the Supreme Court is the most powerful court in the United States of America.

If Mr. Smith won his case, it would set a new precedent (example) in the United States.

aalyn [17]

The correct answer is - I and III.

The Northwestern United States and the Southwestern United States are the least likely, in general, to be engaged in organic agricultural production. The likes of New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, that form the southwestern region are one of the states where the production of organic food is the smallest. The northwestern region on the other hand, is more diverse, with Montana and Idaho being bellow the average in organic production, Oregon being at the average, and Washington being in one of the biggest organic producers, but as a whole, the region is predominantly bellow average in the organic production.
