Answer:

Jordan Anderson was a former African American slave, he is famously known for his letter to his former master, the letter is acknowledged as 'Letter from a Freedman to His Old Master'. He wrote this letter to his old master when he was summoned by Colonel P. H. Anderson to work in his plantation to restore the farm which was in disorder because of the Civil War.

The letter is proof of his honesty, the names he mentions in this letter were real people. The circumstances in which he worked in that plantation is enough to show he is honest because there were thousands of slave who worked and faced a similar situation as Jordan Anderson faced.

“Court-packing” was justified by Roosevelt on what grounds?
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

The correct answer is Constitutional Provision.

Explanation:

FDR decided to expand the Supreme Court in 1937 in order to make it more efficient. Of course, critics came up saying that in this way the Supreme Court wouldn’t be against his New Deal, as it was before because them had unvalidated various important pieces of New Deal legislation justifying that the laws gave an unconstitutional amount of authority to the federal government. FDR proposed that every judge over 70 should retire and if they refused, an “subordinate” with complete voting rights was to be selected, in order to make sure that Roosevelt had a liberal majority. This was called by the opposites the “court-packing” plan.
