The person who developed an early halftone engraving process and a published weather map was Stephen Horgan.

Stephen Horgan, while working as the art director for the <em>New York Herald</em>, invented the halfstone process of engraving. He used a glass screen with file lines in it. He made weather maps for the <em>Daily Graphic</em>, which they began to publish regularly.

Age of Emerging Modernism
This period marked development and change in the musical language at the turn of the 20th Century. There were new ways of organizing and approaching melodic, harmonic, sonic and rhythmic aspects of music.
