Answer: A) incontinence
Incontinence is involuntary leakage of a small amount of urine common in older women. Frequency is when a large amount of urine is excreted in a day. In nocturia, one wakes at night one or a number of times to urinate. Hypospadias, on the other hand, is a congenital condition which happens in males only. A person whose kidney is inflamed is suffering from glomerulonephritis.  Since Mary is a female, and urinate,   but not in a large amount and, is not frequent, her kidney is not reported inflamed also, then she is not having a disease like B) frequency C) nocturia D) hypospadias and E) glomerulonephritis. She is suffering from A) incontinence instead.

The answer is frequency condition. Women with normally aging bladders have weaker sensation; also increase in bladder sensation has a underlying condition called detrusor overactivity. Its a common condition referred to as overactive bladder where detrusor muscle that controls the emptying of the bladder contracts involuntarily creating a strong, sometimes uncontrollable urge to empty the bladder.

In chickens, the allele for a pea comb (A) is dominant to the allele for a single comb (a). A mother with the genotype Aa and a
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

The percent chance that the offspring will have a single comb is 25 %

Explanation:

Given,

The allele for single comb represented as "a" is recessive to the allele for pea comb represented as "A"

Genotype of male - Aa

Genotype of female - Aa

Gamete of Male - A, a

Gamete of female - A, a

Cross between Aa and Aa will produce

AA, Aa, Aa, aa

Thus, out of four offspring only one has "aa" genotype and hence this individual will express the recessive trait i,e  aa

The percent chance that the offspring will have a single comb is

\frac{1}{4} * 100\\

25 %

bogdanovich [222]
<span>A longleaf pine tree is capable of retaining more water than the other types of trees. As such, it would take a larger scale fire to destroy the tree. Depending on the quality of the wildfire, and the burn rate, it has a slightly better chance of surviving than the others.</span>

Which of the following is an important exception to the central dogma of molecular biology? a) Proteins are responsible for most
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

b: many genes code for RNAs that function directly in the cell

Explanation:

<em>The central dogma</em> theory describes the basic framework for gene expression in living organisms. Genetic information from DNA is encoded or transcribed as RNA which then becomes translated as proteins.

The processes that take place for gene to be successfully expressed are;

  • Replication
  • Transcription
  • Translation

<em>Replication</em> is a process whereby DNA makes a copy of itself to be distributed in daughter cells during cell division.

<em>Transcription</em> is the process whereby genetic information in DNA is encoded as RNAs. The RNAs are short-lived as they are quickly utilized in protein synthesis or <em>translation </em>process.

Hence, the RNAs do not function directly in the cells but mere intermediaries in the synthesis of proteins.

<em>The correct option is b.</em>
