Based on the excerpt, I would go with the last choice "Quotation story."

The evidence used in this excerpt from "Lise Marie de Baissac" is quotation story.

In the excerpt there is an exact reproduction of another writer's words: the words of the writer of the SOE file ("[s]he was the inspiration of groups on the Orne [river] and by her initiative caused heavy losses to the Germans... She also took part in several armed attacks on enemy columns.").

Furthermore, the quote is telling a part of someone's story. There is no intention of giving an example nor an statistic. What the quote is presenting are facts and not an opinion. In that sense, the evidence used in this excerpt is a quotation story.

What is a common characteristic of Southern Gothic literature? Select all that apply.
Fynjy0 [20]

"Southern gothic literature" is a term used to encompass a particular strain of literature from the American South. It originated in the 19th century, evolving from American Gothic, which in turn, evolved from English Gothic literature. Its characteristics include irrational, horrific and transgressive thoughts, grotesque characters, dark humor. This genre is rooted in the South's tensions and aberrations related to slavery, racism and patriarchy.

Therefore, the characteristics that would apply are:

 • set only in the South, (although there are some examples that are considered within this genre but the setting is not a recognizable southern one, such as some Poe's poems)
 • romanticized southern life and culture
 • disturbed and twisted characters

What makes “Bernice Bobs Her Hair” a modernist story? Select all that apply.
dexar [7]
"Breaking with tradition" is a major theme of modernist literature. Therefore, the correct answer is the second one -- it emphasizes the changing values of the time.

In this case, the changing values involve women's appearance. For centuries, women had long hair. A woman with very short hair was never seen. In the story, though, short hair is becoming the fashion.
