What is the best paraphrase of Benvolio’s dialogue? I saw a bunch of servants fighting, and I approached them slowly. I started

fighting with the servants of your enemy as soon they approached me. Your enemy’s servants and your servants were fighting before I showed up.

Your enemy's servants and yours have been having a squabble when I chanced upon them. I merely joined them when someone from the enemy was about to attack me. The point is, I don't even know how the squabble started.

Which theme about the pursuit of science would Mary Shelley most likely agree with?
alisha [4.7K]

The correct option is C.

Scientists are expected to be moral, truthful and upright in all their dealings including their career and research studies. They are not expected to get engaged in immoral acts just to achieve fame and popularity. The fame and popularity that each scientist seeks can easily be obtained within the boundary of correct moral dealings.

What is Wiesel trying to do in this passage? APEX
postnew [5]

Answer:

B. Show an example of the United States' indifference to the plight of the Jews.

Explanation:

This refers to a passage in "The Perils of Indifference" in which Wiesel tells the story of the St. Louis. The St. Louis was a ship that sailed from Europe carrying Jewish refugees, but was denied entry in many countries, including the United States. The ship eventually went back to Europe, and many of the passengers perished during the Holocaust. Wiesel wants us to think of this case and reflect on how this shows the indifference of the United States to the plight of the Jewish people.

Read the excerpt from Outcasts United. Perhaps no one in Clarkston was as excited to hear about the free soccer program as eight
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

D. Jeremiah wants to join the soccer program.

Explanation:

Outcast United by Warren St. John tells the story of Luma al-Mufleh, a Jordanian national who came to the United States to escape her country's strict regulations on girls. Later, she would become a soccer coach for the Fugees, a football club she founded for the refugee kids in and around Clarkston, Georgia.

The given excerpt is about the Ziaty family who had come from Liberia to escape the civil war. But due to her inability to feel safe, the mother Beatrice Ziaty ordered her kids to not venture out of the house ever. So, the three kids were all cooped up in the house all day. The start of the football program excites the kids, especially Jeremiah who was eager to be part of the free program. Moreover, he was eager to be going out of the house to do what he loves best. Thus, we can conclude that Jeremiah wants to be part of the soccer program.
