Odysseus  is the hero of Homer’s epic poem, the Odyssey. His parents were Laertes (father) and Anticlea, daughter of Autolycus (mother). He was born in Ithaca, an island of Greece. His biggest battle was the battle of Troy or Trojan war which he fought for ten years. As a leader, he portrayed good qualities like strength, bravery, and nobility. <span>Odysseus acted as an adviser rather than a warrior and was the one responsible in capturing the Trojan seer, Helenus. odessey paved way for the emergence of the western literature still evident today.</span>
