Answer:

  • To allude to a character’s regional background
  • To add to the cultural context of a story’s setting
  • To allude to a character’s social background
  • To create a more genuine dialogue between characters

Explanation:

The use of dialect is not uncommon in stories. From the more realistic to the fantastic ones. Many times, the dialect is used as a plot device, even, showing a conversation that creates some tension, but we cannot understand why at that moment. Sometimes, it is used to create a sense of reality and existence to a fictional culture (such as elves in The Lord of the Rings and the Dothraki in Song of Ice and Fire). It does make the characters' backgrounds richer and does say a lot of the culture (specially in more realistic settings). It can also point to the characters background if the dialect is associated with a social class. And it does make the while story feel more genuine.

An author includes dialect in a story to:
- <span>to allude to a character’s regional background
- to add to the cultural context of a story’s setting
- to allude to a character’s social background
- to create a more genuine dialogue between characters

"</span><span>to describe what a particular setting looks like" is not included since it mainly talks about the setting of the story which is not directly related to the dialect they will be using.</span>

Study the poster showing characters from the movie Star Wars and created by the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare
svetlana [45]

Answer:

The answer is "The photograph shows fictional film characters, used to 'sell' immunization."

Explanation:

A testimonial is one of the most common and effective advertising techniques. You may notice that the products you've been using are endorsed by either famous celebrities or satisfied customers, giving their feedback about the product. In other cases, some promotional ads use experts' opinions about the product. These are examples of testimonials.

<em><u>In this case, the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare use Star Wars' characters to sell the idea of immunization. </u></em>

<em><u /></em>

In 1977, the first installment of Star Wars was released, and it was a certified box office. The irony illustrates that the two characters were not human beings, but they're warning humans regarding immunization. It may sound funny, but people bought it. And it's because of the characters in the poster.

R2D2 and C3P0 were the characters used in the poster who played supporting but remarkable roles in the movie franchise. The creators of the poster took advantage of how famous these two were and cited as likeable sources since many people loved them.

It is C, Mark Antony refutes Brutus’ accusations of Caesar being overly ambitious by giving examples of his humility and his great love for Romans, whom he named as heirs in his will; mutiny might be an expected reaction from the Roman crowd.
