How does the narrator feel upon first seeing the green knight?
natima [27]

Answer and Explanation:

1. He feels surprised and curious. This is because the green knight is a strange, peculiar, intriguing and somewhat frightening figure. In addition, he arrives suddenly and unexpectedly at court, which leaves not only the narrator surprised, but everyone present at the time. The knight does not have a friendly appearance, which leaves the narrator uneasy.

2. To reveal the narrator's impressions, the author uses descriptive language. This language is loaded with adjectives that are capable of showing in detail the state of the narrator in relation to what is happening. However, the use of descriptive language goes beyond and is able to not only describe the narrator's reaction but also establish an image of what is happening to justify the reaction that the narrator is exhibiting.

marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

"Golly" is the correct answer.

Explanation:

An interjection can also be named "an exclamation." It is a way to express oneself to display emotions. These words usually end with exclamation marks when they stand alone. If the word "Golly" was a so-called, "one word sentence," then it would end with an exclamation, particularly of surprise.

Hope this helps. :)

Examine Dr. Faustus’s status as a tragic hero. Does he deserve this label? Explain your answer. Your answer should be at least 1
Virty [35]

Dr Faustus can be considered a tragic hero for various reasons. Firstly, we can conclude that he is not completely bad or evil, he just makes a critical error and decides to sell his soul to the devil due to his thirst for knowledge. This makes us relate to him due to his imperfect nature and hunger for knowledge and consequently we pity him more. Secondly, he is of high standing and is a great scholar, which makes us question how these things can happen to such people and this makes his tragic destiny seem even more gloomy to us. When we look at Aristotle's definition of a tragic hero where he defines him as someone not 100% good or bad who makes us feel sorry for their miserable fate, the character of Faustus fits this definition perfectly. All in all, his human vices paired with his inquisitive nature are the main reasons why we are obliged to consider Dr Faustus a tragic hero.
